Tryst at the Phillips is a cafe where locals, art lovers and travelers come to recharge, reflect and reconnect.

Tryst at the Phillips in the Vradenburg Café brings community to those enjoying one of the country’s best private art collections. The menu includes Tryst Coffee and espresso drinks, select wines and beer, specialty cocktails, fresh baked pastries, and scrumptious sandwiches, salads, and soups.

The Phillips Collection, America’s first museum of modern art, contains paintings by Renoir and Rothko, O’Keeffe, and van Gogh. Take a break with us, or head straight to the café without museum admission to enjoy a cappuccino and do some work using the free public Wi-Fi, meet friends for a quiet lunch, or enjoy a glass of wine or a specialty cocktail in the beautiful Hunter Courtyard.

Tryst Trading Company

Espresso in a tea cup with animal crackers

It all started with an idea and some animal crackers about 20 years ago. Today, we are known as the Tryst Trading Company, a local DC food group that includes several neighborhood restaurants, café’s, and a catering company. We combine good food, specialty coffee, craft cocktails, and great service to create a community gathering place for all while building meaningful connections one animal cracker at a time. For more of our story, check out our location’s individual websites; but more importantly, don’t forget to check us out in person!

Thanks for being party of our community!
